One Nation, Under God
Saturday, January 18th, the BEST biscuits and gravy were served down at the Senior Citizen Center. The dinner was a fund raiser to help with the ongoing efforts of the SCC to remodel and improve the serving capacity and look at the Center.
Barb Stevens and Kathy Waters had prepared the homemade biscuits for the occasion ahead of time and willing hands pitched in to make the day flow with ease. Kitchen help included Theresa Frye, Sandy Perry, Sharon Kindle, Margaret and Leonard Leader, Penny Mackey, Lori Taylor, Ken Blunt and Dave Miller.
The SCC’s own Energized Bunny, Ken Ruzicka, was the handy runner and displayer of signs.
Sharon Miller, again, put together an array of desserts that would make Julia Childs or Betty Crocker blush with embarrassment at the splendor and delicacy of fine appealing varieties. Miller and Kindle had also worked on placing the table decorations on Friday.
Jim Dumas and The Meat Market generously donated the sausage for the gravy.
If I missed anyone, it was not intentional; I looked around but was unable to see any others that were busy in the efforts.
Take-outs were available and there was plenty of tasty homemade goodness to go around. At a point in time, the SCC is planning an open house to share the work that has been done and there will be advance notice with the invitation to join them.
