FYI: All fingerprints that are needed for CWPs, schools, licensing or anything else are done from 9am to NOON every Wednesday.

Concealed Weapon Permits:

New and renewal applications for Concealed Weapon Permits may be picked up at the Sheriff’s Office anytime. Once approved, you will be contacted to come in on Wednesday between 9 AM and noon for fingerprints and photographs.

Just a reminder if you are in need of emergency services, call 911. If you are in need of a fire truck, an ambulance or law enforcement, call 911.

The EMS and Fire Dept offices are not manned 24/7. The Sheriff’s Office is open 24/7 every day of the year, including holidays, and the Dispatcher will get you the assistance you are needing.

Since the next two Wednesdays are Christmas and New Year's Day, fingerprinting services will be on Thursday, December 26, 2024, and Thursday, January 2, 2025, from 0900 to 1200 hours for the next two weeks.

December 25, 2024

Merry Christmas!

8:47 a.m. Deputy performed building and residential security checks in the Saco, Sleeping Buffalo, Nelson Reservoir and Hwy 2 east areas.

1:36 p.m. Deputy performed building and residential security checks in the Dodson and Hwy 2 west areas.

6:18 p.m. Male reported an email scam.

December 26, 2024

9:24 a.m. Deputy performed building and residential security checks in the Landusky, Route 66 and Hwy 191 south areas.

12:39 p.m. Male reported a vehicle weaving all over the Hwy and driving well in excess of the speed limit, westbound from the Saco area; Deputy responded; vehicle located, was driving fine and close to the speed limit.

2:34 p.m. Deputy performed building and residential security checks in the Saco and Hwy 2 east areas.

4:49 p.m. 911 received requesting an ambulance for a male who fell and broke his ankle; local EMT Crew responded.

6:23 p.m. 911 received reporting a slide off on Route 66; Deputy responded; vehicle located, was locked up and no one was around.

9:03 p.m. PC Hospital requested an ambulance for a flight crew pick up from the airport; local EMT Crew handled the call.

December 27, 2024

7:51 a.m. Mountain Alarm reported a commercial burglar alarm sounding at a local business; Deputy responded; all found to be okay, just a false alarm.

12:21 p.m. Female reported receiving more threats from a male; Deputy responded; information added to existing case file.

2:11 p.m. Female reported theft of property from a closed business in Dodson; Deputy responded; case file started.

2:23 p.m. Female reported a vehicle/bicyclist accident near the Post Office; Deputy responded; juvenile transported to the PC Hospital by personal vehicle; case file started.

7:39 p.m. 911 received requesting an ambulance for a very sick female; local EMT Crew responded.

9:14 p.m. PC Hospital requested an ambulance for a flight crew pick up from the airport; local EMT Crew handled the call.

9:22 p.m. Deputy performed building and residential security checks in the Sleeping Buffalo and Hwy 2 east areas.

10:50 p.m. PC Hospital requested law enforcement assistance with two dog bite victims; Deputies responded; case file started.

11:20 p.m. Deputies performed business security checks in the downtown Malta area.

December 28, 2024

12:04 p.m. Deputy performed building and residential security checks in the Saco and Hwy 2 east areas.

4:47 p.m. 911 received requesting an ambulance for a lift assist at River’s Bend Assisted Living; local EMT Cre responded; patient taken to the PC Hospital but not by ambulance.

5:30 p.m. Blaine Co SO served a local warrant on one adult male, Matthew Skutnick, and transported to the Phillips/Blaine Co line to transfer custody to a PCSO Deputy; male later incarcerated in PCSO Jail on that charge.

8:35 p.m. Male requested to speak to a Deputy in the downtown area; Deputies responded; male apparently wanted to let the Deputies know there were people drinking downtown.

9:53 p.m. Deputy performed a traffic stop which led to a vehicle being impounded due to a positive K9 search; case file started.

December 29, 2024

4:47 p.m. Sheriff released one adult male from PCSO Jail and transported him to Chinook; male released due to mistaken identity.

6:45 p.m. Sheriff performed building and residential security checks in the Dodson and Hwy 2 west areas.

9:08 p.m. Male reported finding more damage to his residence; Sheriff responded; information added to existing case file.

9:32 p.m. 911 received reporting a Hit and Run to the caller’s vehicle in Saco; Deputy responded; case file started.

December 30, 2024

7:21 a.m. Central MT Dispatch reported several semi-trucks that “spun out” on river hill, north of the Fred Robinson Bridge, in Phillips Co; Lewistown tow trucks handled.

12:27 p.m. Male reported a fender/bender near the Malta Post Office; Sheriff responded; case file started.

5:14 p.m. Female reported a stray dog at a convenience store; ACO handled the call.

December 31, 2024

2:13 p.m. Lifeline requested an ambulance for an unresponsive medical alert; local EMT Crew responded; all was okay, just a false alarm.

3:37 p.m. 911 received requesting an ambulance for a very sick female; local EMT Crew responded; patient refused medical transport.

7:21 p.m. Female reported kids “knocking” again; Deputy responded; juveniles, and parent, located and advised to stop.

7:45 p.m. Female reported a juvenile had “snuck out”; Compliance Monitoring also reported an issue with the same juvenile’s monitor; Deputy responded; juvenile not located.

7:47 p.m. 911s received reporting a vehicle in the ditch, with 2 occupants, on Hwy 191 just into Fergus Co; information passed onto Central Montana Dispatch.

8:44 p.m. PC Hospital reported a suspicious vehicle, with someone sitting inside, in their parking lot; Deputy responded; all vehicles found to be empty.

9:04 p.m. Deputy reported kids on ATVs spinning broadies, near the PC Hospital; juveniles advised to head home for the night.

9:14 p.m. Female reported a family member’s vehicle had been gone through while parked in front of the caller’s residence; caller didn’t believe anything was taken, just wanted it reported.

Over the period of December 26 through December 31, 2024, the Phillips County Sheriff's Office responded to a total of 56 calls for service in the following locations: City of Dodson - 2; County - 8; City of Malta - 39; Other jurisdiction assist - 3; City of Saco - 4.
