What I Want for Christmas

What do I want for Christmas?

I don't really ever know, or at least when posed with the question, I freeze.

Ask me what I want during nearly any other month of the year, and I could come up with six to seven suggestions of what I need or want.

I knew what I wanted on Black Friday in November, and I got it! My birthday is in October, and I am sure I knew what I wanted back then. I think.

I don't know if it's the pressure of the holidays, a brain-fart, or I just am not comfortable with asking for gifts.

When I was young, much like my sons, I could find a dozen things that I wanted for Christmas.

We did the Christmas list thing with our boys to get a gauge of what they want, and to our surprise, some of their lists are oddly similar to their lists in years past. Some of the items that they mention bring back nostalgia for myself.

Like PJ, I have wanted and got Transformers toys for Christmas.

Like Lincoln, I have wanted drum gear or a new drum set.

That reminds me. I have been slowly replacing drum gear that has been taken away from me. It is going well.

Some of my wishes are more or less a prayer.

I want people to treat each other better. I want our kids in our county to feel safe. I want our kids to stop picking on each other. Some of that bullying or teasing makes the terrorized person sad to the point that they really want to escape in the worst way possible.

I want people to be able to live in peace.

I want our businesses to thrive. I want the local owners to feel secure in their investment in our community.

I want to feel secure in my job. I want my family to thrive because my business is thriving.

I want to do good things for our community and become a legend for the right reasons.

That might have gotten a little heavy, but those are things I think about.

May God bless you all this Christmas!
