Malta Senior Center Receives Grant from Ag West

Ag West, formerly Northwest Farm Credit, delivered a $2000 check to the Center Wednesday, December 18, 2024, during their regular meeting. The monies will go towards cabinets in the remodeled area to better serve the meals put on by the members.

Braving the snowy weather of the day, Liz French of the Glasgow office, facilitated the grant as she wrote a letter of endorsement for the center. An entity may receive a grant each twelve month period if the request meets the criteria set forth.

This is the second grant the group has received as when the awning was designed and constructed a grant was awarded towards the project.

The LED lighting is now installed through a grant by Northwest Energy, throughout the center with the exception of the original kitchen.

The enlarged open concept will handle larger groups such as graduation, birthdays, anniversaries, in general larger celebrations than previous.

Saturday, January 18, 2025, will see the annual Homemade Biscuits and Sausage Gravy served from 11-1:30 with a free will offering. Come celebrate with the members as they kick off the first fundraiser of the year in their new surroundings.
