Maureen Kay Boggs

( June 5, 1937 – October 20, 2024)

Maureen Kay Boggs, 87, a cherished resident of Oro Valley, Arizona, passed away on October 20, 2024. Born on June 15, 1937, in Helena, Montana becoming the first niece of Beloved Aunts Bonnie, Barb, and Jean and Uncles Adrian, Arlyn, and Pat. Maureen grew up on the Brezina farm West of Malta with Mom Alyce O'Brien and Dad John Brezina and Sisters Melanie, Denise, Jeanine, Beth, Michelle, and Brother Lin. Many years later she also found she had a treasured Sister Bonnie Roe. She also is the first of 27 O'Brien cousins and many nieces and nephews.

She graduated from Malta High at 17 years old in 1955. Soon after she relocated to Seattle to work at the Graybar Electric Company.

Maureen and Delbert "Del" married on August 10, 1957, and shared a journey that took them to residences in Seattle, WA; Federal Way, WA; Albuquerque, NM; and finally, Tucson Az. Maureen's unwavering faith, devotion to family, and friendships were central to her life. She had a rare gift for connection; once you became her friend, you remained in her heart. She never forgot a birthday or anniversary, always marking these occasions with a thoughtful card or a call.

Professionally, Maureen enjoyed a fulfilling 28-year career in real estate, which began in Albuquerque in 1987 and continued in Tucson until her retirement in 2015.

She was an active member of Saint Mark’s Catholic Church, and her passions included golfing, reading, studying scripture, playing bridge, and dancing with Del.

Maureen was deeply committed to service, dedicating many years as a board member and counselor at the Reachout Women's Center, where her heart for women and commitment to choosing life touched countless lives. Maureen's legacy is one of deep faith, enduring kindness, and a love that will continue to inspire all who know her. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were blessed to be part of her life.

Maureen was predeceased by her beloved husband, Del, in 2016. She is survived by her three children, Scott (Janet), Sean (Donna), and Brien (Teri); her five grandchildren, Sarah, Duane, Riley, Nathan, and Rachel (Anthony); and six great-grandchildren, Wesley, Isla Maureen, Eleanor, Lana, Heath, and Sylvia.

Funeral Mass was held at Saint Vincent de Paul Parish in Federal Way Washington, December 3, 2024, in the chapel at 10 a.m. A reception followed. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to Reachout Women's Center, Tucson Arizona.

A tree in Maureen's honor will be planted in Malta, Montana.
