Secretary Christi Jacobsen: New Business Registrations Climbed Again in November 2024

Montana Secretary of State Christi Jacobsen said that some 4,700 new business registrations were filed with the State in November 2024 as Montana is on the verge of another year with a record number of new business filings.

Montana has had record new business registrations in each of Secretary Jacobsen's first three years in office and the state is on pace for another record year in 2024.

"Montanans are actively registering their businesses and pursuing their dreams, and we are pleased to be the initial step in that journey," said Secretary Jacobsen. "I am proud of our work to reduce and eliminate fees for Montana businesses, making it easier for them to thrive in our great state."

During her first term in office, Secretary Jacobsen has cut several fees, including the registration fee for new Montana businesses. She has also reduced and eliminated several other business-related fees.

Earlier this year, Secretary Jacobsen announced that she is once again waiving the Annual Report filing fee for all Montana businesses that file between January 1 and April 15, 2025. The fee waiver will result in millions of dollars in savings for Montana businesses.

Secretary Jacobsen has been recognized by several organizations for her work making it easier to do business in Montana. She previously received an honor from the Mountain States Policy Center and was applauded by the Legislative Audit Committee.

“Our team is honored to serve the Montana business community, which plays a crucial role in the success of their local communities,” said Secretary Jacobsen. “Thank you for doing business in Montana!”
