Coach Wasson Talks All-Conference

The 2024 season ended for the North Country Lady Mavericks volleyball team at the State C Volleyball Tournament.

Due to the team's success, five athletes were named to the 2024 District 1B All-Conference List. This list includes BaiLee McColly, Kennedy Simonson, CharLee McColly, Berkeley Hillman, and Ireland Mears.

North Country Head Coach Charlene spoke about each of the team's All-Conference Athletes.

BaiLee McColly - was and has been a force in the middle for us since Freshman year. She has led us in solo blocks for three seasons. This year, she was tasked with scoring kills and blocks as one of our go-to hitters. She gained a lot of valuable experience that will help our team progress and get better next season.

Kennedy Simonson - for the second season in a row, led our team in assists and surpassed 1,000 assists earlier this year. She is a constant steady player who you can count on to get the ball where it needs to go with a set or a dig. Her defense helped us keep the ball in play on our side of the court.

CharLee McColly stepped into a valuable role this season, being the other hitter we relied on heavily to get us points scored when she was in the front row. She diversified her attacking skills between hitting hard, hitting off shots, and knowing when to tip the ball.

Berkley Hillman was our glue this season to know how to keep the team energized and moving in the right direction. She had a lot on her plate and took it all in with confidence. She led the defense and helped the offense, telling hitters where to place the ball. Her get-after-it attitude kept our defense scrappy and our offense energized.

Ireland Mears made major improvements this season, being steady and gaining confidence in herself. She shined in the back row, and a ball didn't go by her without getting touched. She stepped up and helped us get to that end goal of State this season.
