One Nation, Under God
This week the PCN welcomes the new marketing specialist to the staff. On Tuesday morning, Sara (Pankratz) Warren came ready with a fresh and welcoming smile to work on the ads and marketing of the Phillips County News. She is no stranger to the community, having grown up and raised on the family ranch west of Dodson, she is the oldest daughter of Mark and Sarese Pankratz. Sara is a graduate of the Class of 1996 in Dodson.
Warren has had a varied work and study background, as well as being a traveler. She has worked at marketing and sales for "A Cup of Excellence" which is considered the world's best coffee, which was sold on the internet with the proceeds going back to the farmers.
"We got to travel the world and meet people all over the world; that was kind of my introduction to international business." This was in her single life, though she had met her fiancee "...we did to travel to Nicaragua; I, personally traveled to 11 different countries in two-and-a-half years. It was a blurr ~ it was great fun!"
After the coffee world, she had met her husband and moved to Helena and took on a job with the State Department of Commerce. She was involved with hosting delegations to Montana instead of traveling the world; she enjoyed the aspect of showing Montana to others. She took them to different businesses and showcased what the Big Sky Country has to offer.
Warren said, "Every time I would travel the world, but the hi-line always called me home, no matter what was going on and it was always a place I could always feel grounded and be around family. I could smell the hi-line air and touch the ground and carry on along my way."
She feels back at home being around her parents, sister, Taylor Nagal and family, and extended family and relatives. She feels fortunate to be back, she and her husband, Tony, have purchased the home where her grandmother, Marj Pankratz used to live.
Now, her world is her family ~ her husband, and children, Ben and Sage. They love to spend time at the Sleeping Buffalo Resort and have fallen in love with the new outdoor pools.
In her "dream world" she would like to write her book, about her heritage and family, which many readers might know, Julia Schultz being one of them. If she had time, she would embark on cross-country skiing.
Warren is working from her home as a grant writer, and has been working with the Malta Trails group and the Future Foundation (on the swimming pool), and has been working with both entities. With her connections, she has a friend in Japan, and they are working on an exchange program.
Stop by the news office, introduce yourself and help welcome her to the office. She is looking forward to meeting new faces and friends.
