The postseason came to an end for the Malta M-ette volleyball team in the fourth place game of the Northern B Divisional tournament in Shelby last Friday evening.
The M-ettes lost to the Chinook Sugarbeeters 1-3 in the opening round of the tournament on Thursday, November 14, and were eliminated by Chinook 2-3 on Friday, but Malta took down the Harlem Wildcats 3-0 Friday Morning and the Fairview Warriors 3-1 later that day.
Prior to defeating Fairview, the M-ettes lost to them in each of their five meetings this year.
The scores in Malta's win over Fairview were 14-25, 25-21, 25-19, and 25-18.
Malta was led by junior Kendall Clausen who had 14 kills. Junior Neva Jacobson had 29 assists and one block. Kelbie Nelson had 29 digs and four aces. Emree Stuart had four aces.
Malta had a total of 93 digs, 45 kills, 45 assists, 11 aces, and three blocks.
In Malta's fourth place loss to Chinook on Friday, the scores were 26-24, 17-25, 25-20, 20-25, and 10-15.
Malta was led by Hailey Welch who had 11 of Malta's 47 kills. Nelson had 42 of 123 digs. Jacobson had 26 of 45 assists. Ava Hanson had four of 11 aces. Denvyr Tuss had three of five blocks.
In Malta's Friday morning win over Harlem, the scores were 25-20, 25-22, and 25-14.
Ava Hanson led Malta's offense with 10 of 27 kills. Nelson had 29 of 59 digs. Clausen had 15 of 27 assists and five of 13 aces.
In Malta's loss to Chinook in the opening round, the scores were 12-25, 21-25, 25-21, and 19-25.
Malta was led by Denvyr Tuss who had 11 kills and two blocks. Neva Jacobson had 18 assists, two blocks, and an ace. Kelbie Nelson had 28 aces. Avan Hanson had one ace.
