Lady Mavericks Second in Eastern C; Heading to State!!!

The North Country Lady Mavericks are headed to state for the third consecutive season in a row as the runner up in the Eastern C Divisional tournament.

"This was a major accomplishment for us, considering we went through some sickness last week at Districts and still had some lingering this week," Lady Mavericks Head Coach Charlene Wasson said. "The girls rocked it and earned a trip to Bozeman."

The Lady Mavericks lost the Eastern C Championship to the Circle Wildcats last Saturday. The Lady Mavericks also lost to the Wildcats in the semifinals last Friday. Circle won every set.

The Lady Mavericks defeated Broadus 3-2 in the opening round of the Eastern C last Thursday and went on to defeat Scobey 3-2 in the quarterfinals later that day. After their loss to Circle in the semifinal match, the Lady Mavericks defeated Bainville 3-2 in the third place game.

The Lady Mavericks will face the Gardiner Lady Bruins in the opening round of the State C tournament in Bozeman on Thursday, November 14, at 10 a.m.

Gardiner is the first place team out of the Western Divisional. The team has not lost a match since their 2-3 loss to Manhattan Christian on Thursday, October 24.
