Faye Ellen Grimsley Seel (September 21, 1928 – November 1, 2024)

Faye Ellen Grimsley Seel was born on September 21, 1928, to Sherman and May Grimsley and passed away on November 1st, 2024. She attended elementary school at the Sun Prairie School south of Malta and graduated at 16 from Malta High School. She was a lifeguard at the Plunge during summers in high school. Having worked afternoons at the Phillips County Assessor's office as a senior in a Trade and Industry class, she was hired upon graduation into the office of Clerk and Recorder.

She married Gene Seel in 1946 and worked for Dr. Setzer and Dr. Williams when they hired her away from the county. She was employed at Dobson Motors and the Chevrolet garage, the Phillips County News Office, and finally, completed 20 years at the Malta Irrigation District. As secretary, she "kept books" for Malta, Glasgow, and Dodson, and 8 irrigation districts on the Milk River irrigation Project. She became a member of the Board as well.

As a member of the Malta Saddle Club, she was an excellent barrel racer and was instrumental in starting the Boots and Saddles program for kids. She was also an active member of the Malta Homemakers Club and member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Her hobbies were varied, from sewing, ceramics, and family history, to making porcelain dolls. Although she loved cars and her independence, family was her first priority.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gene; parents May and Sherman Grimsley; sister Eva Oxarart and her husband Sonny; brother-in-law Leonard Boos; brother David Grimsley, and granddaughter Kelly Mosier.

She is survived by son Charles "Shorty" Seel, (Donna); daughter Terry Mosier, (Bill); sister Lillian Boos; sister-in-law Dolly Grimsley; grandchildren Chris Seel (Lynsey), Greg Mosier (Jolee); and Sara Foster (Chris); great grandchildren Ella and Nate Seel; Jacob and Jonathan Mosier; Genie Ronnemose and Emery Foster; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Little White Church in Malta MT

A visitation was held on Monday Nov. 4, 2024 from 4-6pm at Wilderness Funeral Homes in Malta. The funeral service was held on Tuesday Nov. 5, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Wilderness Funeral Homes in Malta
