One Nation, Under God

Loring/Affinity News for Wednesday, October 23, 2024

I hope everyone who reads this column got to check out the unusual sight in the evening sky this week! That comet really put on a show! I enjoyed all the photos of it too! And the full moon earlier this week really was outstanding!

I had several visitors this week. Tim and Sheila Watts-Heine came over and visited while I presented her a 50-year pin for OES Sacajawea Chapter membership (Photo on Page 12). It was great to connect with her!

Then the Wishers stopped in. Sammie was going to run a race on Saturday. Anita was the delivery person of my Amaryllis from Jeanie Green. Lu Besel had been the plant sitter and it is a beautiful red! The first blossom opened today! It was great to visit with them, including Chad who stayed with the dog in the Jeep until Sammie went out to let him come in! I don’t know how Sammie did in the race, but I know she finished it!

I got lonesome for Carol Lumsden the other day and decided to call her. She answered kinda sleepy sounding, and I asked where she was. She said “Switzerland. It’s 3 o’clock in the morning.” She still talked for a while. She’ll be home soon!

Have a great day!
