One Nation, Under God

Well...That Was Soup-er!

A beautiful autumn day unfolded and was welcomed by the Senior Citizens Center staff for their annual soup luncheon. There were nine flavors of soup for the hungry appetites of those attending and no one went away hungry. The time was perfect for visiting, getting to know new people in the community and a great way to have lunch and not do dishes afterwards.

Adding a new flavor to the selection, one was able to dine on and enjoy Johnny Cash's Chili, along with chicken noodle with homemade noodles, lasagna soup, beef stew, stuffed baked potato soup, moose meatball with red potatoes, vegetable beef, and Julia Robert's Baked Potato Soup. Soups were prepared by culinary specialists Ken and Penny Ruzicka, Sharon Kindle, Leonard Leader, Kari Hould, Theresa Frye, Ken and Karen Blunt, and Barb Stevens. Fabulous cooks, Kathy Waters and Sharon Miller, contributed their savory fresh homemade buns and delicious desserts. They were assisted by Sandy Perry and David Miller in the dessert preparation room.

Proceeds from the donations will be going toward the remodel project that the Center is planning. The Center will be hosting other events in the near future.
