One Nation, Under God

Save the Date: State Convention Oct 17-20

Dear Editor,

If you have a stake in Montana’s agricultural future—whether as a farmer, rancher, advocate, or simply a concerned citizen—I strongly encourage you to attend the Montana Farmers Union State Convention October 17-19 at the Grouse Mountain Lodge in Whitefish. This annual event offers a unique opportunity to learn, connect, and contribute to the well-being of our rural communities.

The convention is much more than a gathering of agricultural professionals; it’s a place where vital conversations take place about the future of family farms, rural economies, and sustainable practices. Attendees gain valuable insights into current issues affecting Montana’s agricultural industry, from policy changes to environmental challenges. Guest speakers at the convention include Zach Ducheneaux, Administrator for USDA’s Farm Service Agency and Kurt Myllymaki, Leopold Conservation Award Recipient. Educational sessions will include three expert panels discussing Local Food Infrastructure, Beginning Farmers and Ranchers, and Montana Farmer Veterans.

Equally important are the networking opportunities. The convention brings together a diverse group of people—from seasoned farmers to new entrants—who share a commitment to strengthening Montana’s agricultural legacy. You’ll leave with a stronger sense of community and connections that can help you in your own agricultural endeavors.

Perhaps the most rewarding aspect of attending the Montana Farmers Union State Convention is the sense of empowerment it fosters. You’re not just learning about the issues; you’re getting involved in shaping the solutions. Montana Farmers Union advocates on behalf of family farms and ranches, ensuring that our voices are heard on the state and national level. By attending, you become part of this effort, helping to safeguard the future of farming in Montana for generations to come.

Whether you're deeply embedded in agriculture or just want to support local farmers, this convention is a must-attend. It’s an investment in your future and the future of Montana agriculture.

Sincerely,

Mary Jenni
