One Nation, Under God
Oh, the joy of having all of my siblings around for almost a week!
Scott Cowan and Dee Arndt both arrived in Billings on Tuesday.
We really didn’t have plans for Wednesday except to tour the Affinity and meet a few of Dixie’s friends. On Thursday we all met at the Meadowlark Brewery for dinner and a little taste of David’s Beer Shananigens. Brent, Abby and boys and David, Brandie and Rocco joined us. Soon the hours marched by and in a flash, we were all sleeping and regenerating our energy for the next day!
On Friday, we started for the Beartooth Highway to see if it was still open! And it was perfect weather for a fall road trip! The road was clear, had several dozen vehicles on it but we were able to stop and take some pictures along the way! Scott had never been to Red Lodge so the whole trip was exciting for him. Dee and Debbie always love the mountains and never tire of the scenery!
We got back to Red Lodge and wandered through several vintage stores and then ate an early dinner at the Ox Pasture, an authentic Italian restaurant!
The Sears family came over on Saturday for lunch. It was great seeing three of the four boys and getting to know them a bit more!
Also, we went shopping for a lamp for me that would give off more light around my sink area!
Congrats to the North Country Volleyball team and the Malta Mustangs on their impressive season records!
Also, the Cross Country penguins who will be going to the state competition soon! Run like the wind!
Dee Arndt drove back to the Flathead area yesterday and reported a safe day! Scott leaves today (Monday) for Scottsdale!
It’ll be quiet here for a while. I’m planning to clean up my farm garden soon. I’ve enjoyed the tomatoes from it! I have my chocolate cherry tomato on my patio, so I’ll still gather the fruit from it for a few weeks.
The wind was crazy in Loring and most of northern Montana on Friday. I haven’t heard of much damage, but I’m sure some property was relocated!
Congrats to Kourtney and Tate Benson on their marriage! Of course, there were many Simonson relatives in the area for the wedding, which was beautiful!
More good news, Steven Johannesen got to come home from the burn center in Salt Lake City! He looks good and his family was overjoyed!
Thanks for reading my column.
