Lady Mavs To Host Double Header

The North Country Mavericks Volleyball team saw plenty of action last week as they defeated the Bainville Bulldogs 3-0 in a conference matchup on Thursday, September 26, and then traveled to Choteau for the Mid-Season Invitational.

North Country will host the Class B Harlem Wildcat JV team in Whitewater on Thursday, October 3. They are also scheduled to play a double-header in Hinsdale on Friday, October 4, against Froid-Medicine Lake and Brockton.

In North Country’s win over Bainville the scores were 25-18, 25-16, and 25-17. North Country handed Bainville their first conference loss of the year. North Country is 3-1 in 1C volleyball and Bainville is 4-1.

“Saturday, the Mavericks took part in the Choteau Mid-season Tourney where they played three class B schools Jefferson, Malta, and Choteau, and the Class C competitor Belt Huskies,” North Country Maverick Head Coach Charlene Wasson said. “The Mavericks didn't come away with a win in any of the sets we played out of eight, but we were right there with some solid teams who have had some state experience the last few years.”

In North Country’s loss to Jefferson, the scores were 14-21 and 10-10.
