Junior High Penguins Run in Frazer

The Junior High Whitewater Penguins headed to Frazer for their final meet last Thursday to compete in the Frazer XC Invite located just South of town along the river. This is a challenging course with long inclines. It is an all-dirt course with one steep long hill and one long gradual hill near the end of the course. We only had two runners compete as we’ve been battling some sicknesses throughout the week. Henson Hellie had a great race, reaching his goal of no walking, and ended at 12:53, cutting two minutes off of his time from the previous week. He just ran a lot more consistently and knew it would be his last race which was enough to motivate him to not stop and rest on the hills. He ended in 32nd place out of 45 runners. Hadley Henson was our other competitor and ended with a time of 14.59, running fairly consistent with his previous meet time. He was also able to complete his goal of not walking during the race. They were both excited to finish the year on a good note and I hope to see them back next year.
