The enthusiastic crew with the American Red Cross pulled into Malta on Thursday, Sept. 5, and set up immediately to complete the series of blood draws in northeastern Montana. The Little White Church was the venue for this draw, as the entry to the Event Center was compromised with the construction crew working on Hwy 191 south of town.
The goal for quota was 51 pints and 52 pints were drawn. Terry Hotchkiss served as coordinator for the event.
Donors who helped the Red Cross on meeting the goal were Gordon Faaborg, Jim Sintler, Mariah Kowceun Marino, Marilyn Taylor, Kevin Stevens, Ted Kelly, Jackie Sorlie, Pierre Bibbs, Ken Blunt, Patti Webb, Rachel Liff, Alisha Gibbs, Bonny Ost, Scott Meneely, Vincent Schmoeckel, Carol Brown, Mary Lundstrom, Terry Lodmell, Suzy Johnson, Shelby Jones, Philip Munoz, Mitchell Demarais, Chelsea Hoaglund, Kenneth Ruzicka, Kendra Veit, Lori Abrahamson, and Penelope Mackey, all of Malta.
Donating from Harlem was Catherine Pitman; Zortman, Jack Kelly and Diana Robinson; and from Dodson, Alice Jaynes, Ramona Doney, and Connie Jones.
Representing Whitewater and donating was Richard Dunbar. The lone donor from Saco was Joseph Salveson.
Nine walk-ins were also donors at the draw and they include Maria Brown, Tom Golik, Billie Rae Maxie, Nancy Ereaux, Rosie Bednarczyk, Becky Siewing, Wendy Bedwell and Tom Bedwell.
The CattleWomen served delicious and nutritious sandwiches and cookies. Juice was also provided to donors.
In a time of need, the community continues to come through.
