George F. Shell, 93 passed away peacefully on August 17, 2024, surrounded by his loving family at home in Apache Junction, AZ.
He was born April 20, 1931, in Sheridan, Wyoming to Lawrence and Elizebeth (Roark) Shell, the youngest of eight children.
George was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a master mechanic, farmer and rancher, oil rigger, mentor, and friend. A humble, kind-hearted soul. He loved to fish, hunt, play cards, camp, and travel. There were many memorable times taking the kids to swim meets, camping, and water skiing. Camping at Nelson Reservoir was a regular outing for many summers. The hunting trips were mostly south of Malta. The experiences with Dad were unforgettable. We will miss him dearly.
He served in the Army Air Forces (USAAF) in Japan and Korea from 1948-52.
He married Margaret (Vances) Deo on May 31, 1953, in Malta, Mont. They were married for 71 years.
He is survived by his wife, four children, 10 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. His daughter Rhonda Shell Henry and her children, Crystal and Casey. His daughter Darlene Shell Wilke and her children Eric (Dara), Jaymie, and Ben. His son Robert Shell (Beverly) and their children Eileen, BreAnna and Brandon. His son Bradley Shell (Brenda), Brandon, and Zachary. His great-grandchildren, Gracie, Makaya, Danika, Taya, Rider, June, Gage, Zasha, Trae, Summer, Sage, and many nephews and nieces. Preceded in death by grandchildren, Jason Shell (son of Bradley and Brenda Shell) and Cory Stephens (son of Rhonda Shell Henry and Tom Stephens). His parents, Lawrence and Elizabeth Shell, brothers Lawrence (Ellen), Ben (Margaret), John (Maxine), Louie (Thelma), David Shell, and his sisters Jeanette (Ed), and Madge (Jerry).
