M-ette Spikers Set the Tone with Blue, White, and Neon!

The Malta M-ettes volleyball team held their Blue and White Scrimmage last Friday, August 23, at the Malta High School Gymnasium.

The teams consisted of a mix of varsity and junior varsity teams. Though the team has been practicing since August 16, it was the first time that the team played an organized game. Blue won both games with the scores being 25-16 and 26-24.

M-ette Head Coach Tasha Hines seemed pleased with the result of their Blue and White game.

"Honestly, that was the first time we've seen them play, we haven't scrimmaged up to this point," Coach Hines said. "It's just been about fundamentals and covering the basics, so we put together a rotation practice for about 10 minutes. I thought they did phenomenally, even in our sub-varsity scrimmage, like we had some good rallies, we had some good hits. We had good digs and serves."

Prior to the main Blue and White scrimmage, the C-squad and JV teams squared off in a neon vs white game.

The neon team was coached by senior Ava Hanson and assistant coach Jessica Oyler and the white team was coached by senior Macy Blunt and assistant coach Kalli Rummel.

Malta is scheduled to host the Malta Invitational on Saturday, August 31.

"We're pretty excited for this season and have high goals," Coach Hines said.
