The City of Malta will conduct a public hearing August 30, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. in Council

Chambers at City Hall. The purpose of the public hearing is to receive public comment

concerning the 2024/25 budget and proposed mills. Persons and/or their agent(s) may appear in

person or send written comments to Mayor John Demarais, PO Box 1300 Malta MT 59538, no

later than 11:30 a.m. August 30, 2024. Copies of the preliminary budget will be available for

review after August 23, 2024, during regular business hours.

Snow Removal

Contractors Being Sought

Snow Removal Contractor Proposals are being sought for the 2024- 2025 winter season for all in town Malta Schools including the Elementary, Old Gym, Middle School/ High School, and the Head Start Building. Interested contractors may obtain a bid sheet from Superintendent Mr. Bucks or Jana Moran in the Central Office of the Malta Middle School/ High School.

Proposals are due by Friday, September 13, 2024 by 3:00 P.M. in the Business Office of Malta High School. 654-1871.

BIG FLAT ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING DATE SET FOR OCTOBER 12, 2024

Preliminary plans are being made for Big Flat Electric Cooperative's 77th Annual Membership Meeting. The date of the meeting will be Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the Malta High School in Malta, Montana.

In accordance with the by-laws, the Board of Directors appointed on July 18, 2024, and have notified the following list of members to serve on the Nomination Committee:

District #1 - Dalton Cornell

Shane Jones

Lorin Krass

The Nominating Committee's delegation on nominations will meet on Thursday, September 5th, 2024 at 4:30 p.m. at the Border Bar and Grill in Turner, Montana, to nominate members for the election of director for a three year term from District One (1) – Hogeland Area. If you're a member in District #1 and have an interest in running for the Board, please contact a member of the nominating committee.

Members may also be nominated for Directors by petition of any fifteen (15) or more members. Nominations made by petition, received at the Cooperative's Office at least fifteen (15) days prior to the annual meeting, shall be included on the Official Ballot.

Notice to Phillips County Taxpayers

FY 2025 Budget and Certified Mill Levy Public Hearing

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in the County Commissioner's Office, Phillips County Courthouse, 314 South 2nd Avenue West, Malta, Montana, a public hearing will be held at which time any taxpayer or resident of Phillips County may appear and be heard on the proposal to levy mills for the premium contributions for group benefits according to MCA 2-9-212 and the proposal to levy mills to fund a 3% increase in employer contributions to the Sheriff's

Retirement System according to MCA 15-10-420, 19-7-403, 19-7-404. Final approval is scheduled for Monday, September 3, 2024, at 3:00 p.m.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at 2:15 p.m. in the County Commissioner's Office, Phillips County Courthouse, 314 South 2nd Avenue West, Malta, Montana, a public hearing will be held at which time any taxpayer or resident of Phillips County may appear and be heard for or against any part of the proposed FY 24-25 budget. Final Budget approval and setting of official Certified Mills is scheduled for Monday, September 3, 2024, at 3:00 p.m.

The proposed county budget for Phillips County, Montana for Fiscal Year 2024-2025 will be on file in the office of the Phillips County Clerk & Recorder and open for public inspection to all taxpayers beginning at 8:00 a.m. on August 26, 2024.

CITY OF MALTA

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

The City of Malta will hold a public hearing on September 10 at 5:00 PM in the City Hall, 39 S.

2nd Street East. The purpose of the hearing is to obtain public comments regarding a proposed

application to the Montana Department of Commerce's Community Development Block Grant

(CDBG) Program and other applicable programs for a project to upgrade the City's water system.

At the public hearing, the proposed project will be explained, including the purpose and

proposed area, scope of work, budget, possible funding sources, and any costs that may result

for Malta residents. All interested persons can ask questions and express their opinions

regarding this proposed project.

Comments may be given orally at the hearing or submitted in writing before 5:00 PM, September

9, 2024. Anyone who wants more information or wants to submit questions or comments should

PETITION TO ABANDON

AUTO GATE

At a regular meeting of the Board of County Commissioners, a petition signed by several residents and taxpayers of PHILLIPS COUNTY was presented to the Board requesting that one ( 1 ) auto gate be abandoned and removed at the following location.

The intersection of the midpoint of the south edge of section 6 and the midpoint of the north edge of section 7, Twp 29. Range 31 E, on Black Coulee Road.

A hearing will be held on said petition on Monday September 9 at 2:15 p.m. in the Commissioners' Room at the Phillips County Courthouse, at which time anyone may appear either for or against the said petition.
