Malta Gardeners Group Announces Winners

Hi, I was asked to write a bit about our contest in Malta Gardeners Group.

We always have really fun things to do in this group and the primary reason for this group is to get people back into gardening and back into the great outdoors. We would also like to get farmers' markets started in this area and get more people starting businesses by selling what they produce. There is nothing more rewarding than growing your own food and teaching the next generation how to grow, cook with, and preserve our own food, plus growing flowers and plants in your own creative ways with members chiming in on all their gardening ideas.

We have expert master gardeners all the way down to beginners and try to help everyone with their questions along the way. We always stay positive, and I like to say that I want to be able to get up in the morning with my coffee and look at something positive to start me on with my day.

So, I was asked to write about a giveaway contest we do on Malta Gardeners Group every six months or so. The winner gets whatever I can afford. Last time it was a large composter. This time it is a box of We the Wild Plant Care, and they also get their picture on the cover of our page for the next six months.

Anyone can post a picture or more of the items they grew in their gardens, of design, or of family enjoying gardening. Everyone votes with a like or comment on which ones they love the most and the person with the most wins. Here are the winners this month. First Place was Stephanie Simanton and her Silver Queen sweet corn that was just huge! Second place was Shelly Dunbar and her beautifully grown lilies! Third was Laura Pankratz and her beautiful garden. All three of these ladies are master gardeners in my book!

We have a large following of gardeners from all over the state and even the country and I love to have conversations going with anything the group brings up. I love all the beautiful pictures and ideas that come up. We have a great following of organic gardeners and non-organic alike. Experts will give advice and really anyone who has encountered the same problem.

Once a week I take pictures of gardens, planters, and flowers I see around town, and everyone tries to guess who lives there. Another feel-good game for the community.

If you would like to Join this group it is Malta Gardeners Group | Facebook

I hope we get some more great gardeners or beginners ready to take on the challenge of growing their own flowers, fruits and foods.

Happy Growing Everyone!
