SILENT AUCTION

The City of Chinook is organizing a City Shop Surplus Silent Auction. There will be a public viewing for all items being auctioned on August 21 from

8 a.m. - 3 p.m.

The silent bid starts July 24, 2024, and will end at 12 p.m. on August 30, 2024.

If you are unable to attend the public viewing, you are welcome to visit the City of Chinook Facebook page. Our Facebook page lists pictures of all items being auctioned, along with item numbers.

The Malta Irrigation District (406) 654-1440), Box 1340 Malta, MT 59538 has applied for an

Opencut Permit amendment with the State of Montana for the mining of sand and gravel. The

Rifle Range Pit is 13.8 acres in size, is in S05, T30N, R30E and will be accessed off HWY 191. As

proposed, Malta Irrigation District may remove 500,000 yards of sand and gravel before

December 2054. The site does not include any permanent facilities. A map of the proposed

permit location can be obtained by contacting the Malta Irrigation District.

Notice of Public Hearing

The City of Malta will conduct a public hearing August 30, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. in Council

Chambers at City Hall. The purpose of the public hearing is to receive public comment

concerning the 2024/25 budget and proposed mills. Persons and/or their agent(s) may appear in

person or send written comments to Mayor John Demarais, PO Box 1300 Malta MT 59538, no

later than 11:30 a.m. August 30, 2024. Copies of the preliminary budget will be available for

review after August 23, 2024, during regular business hours.

The Malta City Council will conduct two public hearings on August 27, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. and 5:01 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. The purpose of the public hearings is to receive public comment(s) on the annual street maintenance assessment and the annual street lighting assessment for 2024/25.

City of Malta

Notice of Public Hearing

The City of Malta will hold a public hearing on September 10 at 5:00 PM in the City Hall, 39 S.

2nd Street East. The purpose of the hearing is to obtain public comments regarding a proposed

application to the Montana Department of Commerce's Community Development Block Grant

(CDBG) Program and other applicable programs for a project to upgrade the City's water system.

At the public hearing, the proposed project will be explained, including the purpose and

proposed area, scope of work, budget, possible funding sources, and any costs that may result

for Malta residents. All interested persons can ask questions and express their opinions

regarding this proposed project.

Comments may be given orally at the hearing or submitted in writing before 5:00 PM, September

9, 2022. Anyone who wants more information or wants to submit questions or comments should

contact Lorie Bond, Clerk/Treasurer, at (406) 654-1251. You may also contact the district's
