One Nation, Under God
The 2024 PC Fair Ranch Bronc Riding event provided plenty of excitement and qualified eight-second runs as a welcome intermission for the 2024 Indian Relay Race event at the PC Fair Arena last Friday, August 2.
The broncs were provided by Jim Orahood.
Nineteen riders were featured in the opening two sections of the event and only four made the short go by way of their scores in the first ride.
The event was won by Rocky Boy's Tyrus Lamere who had a 73 point ride in the short go, as the final rider of the event.
Lamere was asked about his win after the event. He and his team went to Rocky Boy for another rodeo that night.
"The key to winning was just to go in and try my best and have fun," Lamere said. "Ranch broncs is one of my favorite events. You see a little bit of everything because there's no rules. If there is a ranch bronc riding in Montana, just know I'll be there."
Lodge Pole's Kadin Racine was second in the short go with 70 points. Cody McCabe of Harlem was third with a score of 67, and Malta's Ivan Ledfahl was fourth with a score of 59.
Qualifying rides were made by Haden Hellie (score NA), Spencer Gibbs (58), Cody McCabe (NA), Ernie DuCharme (66), Lane Snyder (61), Lamere (77), Alex Werk (75), Jay Thomas Stewart (62), and Ivan Lefdahl (NA).
