One Nation, Under God

Loring/Affinity News for Wednesday, August 7, 2024

Congratulations to all the people who got ribbons at the fair!

I kept up on Facebook with everyone’s posts. Kennedy and Samuel Simonson did great with their steers and Kage Morrison showed his swine! The Blunt boys also showed their hogs! Great learning experience!

Amus and Everette entered leather work and Everette entered sewing. His sweatshirt got judges choice award!

The temperature is hot, hot, hot! I think the temp was over 100 for a week! It finally rained a while last night here in Billings, but just a sprinkle in Loring. I’m so thankful my AC works just fine! I did check the filter, and it looks good. I just have a window-sized machine. But I have two ceiling fans which really help!

Jeannie Schroeder and Zoey came over on Sunday to swim with me. Zoey is working on flips in the water. Of course, Grandma Dixie, who has never done one, is trying to help her get the rhythm down. It’s quite hilarious!

I finished up my dentist appointments! Wow! My recommendation to anyone who might have dental insurance, use it before you retire! My teeth didn’t ache, so I thought I was golden…not so! Several of my teeth were cracked where the fillings were, so I had two crowns put in and three small fillings redone. But I’m good now and the dentist’s pockets are filled with my gold! Lol, I’m thankful that we can get our teeth fixed!

Some friends and I took a drive to Laurel for brunch on Friday. One of my friends used to live between Laurel and Billings so we drove by her house.

The kids are getting ready for school now. It’s an exciting time for them! Football and cross country will be in full swing soon, too!

I saw a beautiful yellow tiger swallowtail butterfly the other day! It was so graceful!

Have a great week!
