One Nation, Under God

Loring/Affinity News for Wednesday, July 24, 2024

The smoke in the sky makes for beautiful sunsets and sunrises! The moon has been full this week, so it has had some beautiful colors too! But the clear blue sky is still the best! The temps have been in the 60’s for lows and 90’s for highs. It is pretty hot.

The hay is getting brought in to store for the cows this winter. Some places seem to have lots of grasshopper damage while others have escaped the hungry critters.

The winter wheat is turning that golden color, and the barley is getting ripe, too. Soon the big combines will be getting their workout!

I had visitors from Loring stop in this week! Carol Lumsden brought five of her grandchildren over to see me.

I’ve been staying at David’s house taking care of Riley, the Dingo, while the family is in Europe! Riley and I are getting along fine. We are both old!

My sister-in-law, Bev Haagenson, also came to pay me a visit. It’s nice to have company!

Quite the week politically in this country! Assassination attempt on Trump, the Republican Convention and then President Biden pulling out of the presidential race!

Spent some time with my grandkids on Sunday! We had lunch at my apartment with Jeannie Schroeder and Zoey Stordahl, Brentton and Abby Stordahl and their two boys, Zayden and Xander. Obviously, gramma Dixie was in seventh heaven!

Have a great week, everyone!
