JOB OPENING

The Phillips County Sheriff’s Office is hiring a DEPUTY SHERIFF to be appointed UNDERSHERIFF.

Minimum requirements are a Peace Officer Intermediate Certificate and a Supervisory Certificate or be eligible to apply for these certificates upon hiring. Having completed command-level training, such as the FBI Intermountain Command College, would be most beneficial. The responsibilities of the Undersheriff are as follows: Communications Administrator (understanding of the overall operation of the communications center, conflict resolution between employees and between employees and the public, acquiring equipment for the communications officers so they can complete their mission, other communications center-related duties); Jail Administrator (ensure the proper level of supplies are available for the operation of the 72-hour detention facility, arrange for the transfer of long-term inmates to other detention facilities, make command decisions relating to Phillips County inmates being held at other holding facilities, other detention center related duties); Reserve Deputy Coordinator (take command of the Reserve Deputy force and maintain their training hours to state standards, ensure Reserve Deputies are utilized for special events such as the Fair, inmate transports, school sporting tournaments, parades, etc.). The Undersheriff will also be responsible for other law enforcement-related duties such as traffic patrol, investigation of criminal activity, guiding Deputies and Communications Officers with the performance of their duties, and other duties as assigned by the Sheriff.

Phillips County Sheriff’s Office

Program Coordinator

The Phillips County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for the following full-time non-sworn civilian position, Program Coordinator for the Northeast Montana Children’s Advocacy Center. Benefits include 100% medical insurance premiums paid by the employer for employee and family members, vacation/sick time accrual, and annual raises as approved by the compensation board.

The Program Coordinator will serve as an advocate for children in Phillips County as well as the participating areas of Blaine County, Daniels County, Sheridan County, Roosevelt County, and the City of Glasgow. Will be required to attend training as necessary to fulfill position requirements (i.e. Forensic and Trauma-based interviewing, etc.) as well as manage and develop the growth of the Center, the associated programs, and its employees. The Program Coordinator will be required to travel to the participating agencies as well as assist the law enforcement agencies as necessary.

Education and experience requirements are a Bachelor’s degree in a related field or 3 years of

experience in child advocacy or a related field. The applicant will need to pass a background investigation. Salary will range from $18.50-$21.00 depending upon education and experience.
