Local Hoopsters Two-Thirds of the Way Through 2024 Shooting Challenge

The State-Wide 8K Shooting Challenge, hosted by 127 Sports Intensity and the Fairfield Basketball Club, is almost done. It started on May 1st and will end on August 23rd.

Mike Schmidt, organizer of the event, is the Athletic Director and Social Studies teacher at Fairfield High School.

Schmidt said, "These kids from around the state should be acknowledged for their hard work and dedication to shooting over the course of the summer. Most kids are not putting in this work.

"We have kids from Baker, Malta, Harlem, Fairfield, Choteau, Belt, Townsend, Superior, Frenchtown and other communities. Shooters have less than 44 days left of the challenge."

There are 75 registered shooters, with 64 actively participating and 11 are inactive shooters. The total shots taken to date is 254,614!

Malta hoopsters participating are Tessa Simanton, 39% with 3,099 total shots taken; Chevelle Stiles, 41% with 3,265 total shots taken; Sokoya Love, 13% with 770 total shots taken and Miracle Love 9% with 705 total shots taken. Rihaunna Simonson has 0% with 0 shots taken.
