One Nation, Under God

Dino Days Held During Crazy DAY

Even though Crazy Days (actually Crazy Day) was more or less canceled, the Dinosaur Museum held their annual Dino Day, which allowed the young and adventurous at heart an opportunity to dig into the past, back into the days of dinosaurs, and have fun while doing it.

And dig they did! The visitors were able to carefully clean off rocks and brush away sand until they unearthed replicas of the prehistoric age. Perhaps it was an event similar to this where the inspiration for the song, "Digging Up Bones" originated.

Stations of the various countries: Japan, Canada, England, Spain and China, provided the curious to learn more about the various species of dinosaurs that roamed millions of years ago.

At the tables, the little inquisitive adventurers could color foam dinosaurs that could then be formed into 3-D dinosaurs. At one table there were artists who painted faces. One station had a bubble-making stringed unit that made BIG bubbles.

There were little ones who were jiving to the music and were in their "happy world"! The ages of those enjoying the day ranged from six weeks old to...let's just say "legal age." Young at heart and young of mind both enjoyed the day filled with nature and summer.

The Kiwanis crew was set up with hot dogs, chips and drinks, and cotton candy was also available from a vendor. The museum had items for sale for donations.

Families could spend the day enjoying history, activities, food and visiting.
