One Nation, Under God

Loring/Affinity News for Wednesday, June 27, 2024

Wow! The temp on Sunday was 99 degrees. I’m not the ruler of the world, but I say that’s too hot for June! The rest of the week was in the 70’s!

Cindy Clark was a guest lay minister at the Malta Lutheran and Whitewater Lutheran Churches on Sunday. Her message was also carried on KMMR-Mustang radio. Lulu Besel invited her for lunch afterward.

It’s been raining several times a week and the grass looks beautiful. Crops are growing right along with the weeds!

Congratulations to Rennay Watkins and Del Harman on their wedding!

I saw my ophthalmologist on Thursday. The dry macular degeneration has progressed in my left eye, but my right eye is still holding on, thank goodness. I just can’t explain how devastating it is to have your sight taken away. I can still see, but not everything! I did see a yellow tiger swallowtail butterfly flitting around the trees down at Affinity. And I saw the goldfinches visit my sunflowers on my patio!

A Gideon representative was a guest speaker at the Loring Lutheran Church on Sunday.

Affinity is hosting a Luau on Thursday. I painted some decorations for the tables. It sounds like a good time!

I know that the crop tours are usually at this time of the summer. I haven’t heard for sure, but the park is all mowed and ready for a picnic!

Have a great week!
