One Nation, Under God

Loring/Affinity News for Wednesday, June 19, 2024

Kathy Bell, of Glasgow, surprised me on Sunday! She was at Affinity visiting her brother, Bob McInerney, who has lived here for a few years. Two other siblings were visiting him, also.

I hosted a Stordahl BBQ here at Affinity on Saturday evening. Tom’s sister Bev Haagenson, and nieces Julie, JoAnn, and nephew Rick and their significant others attended along with great-niece Jenny Haskin and Chris McMullen. Chris was the master flipper of burgers, thank you, Chris! My son Rodney, Jeannie and Zoey and Brentton, Abygale, Zayden and Xander rounded out the guests! We rarely all get together on a happy day! We were all happy to be together and no funeral!

The North-South basketball challenge was played this weekend. First, the game was played in Wyoming, and then the next day it was played here in Billings. I heard that the Montana girls’ team won in both states. I heard a couple of familiar names from North Country Mavericks...Paige Wasson and Teagan Erickson had hot hands and scored many points!

A little update on Steven Johannesen. He was able to call Twilla and talk to her one day last week. The painting of the horse I sent to him made it along with another photo of wild horses.

But on Saturday he had emergency surgery on his intestines because part of it was dying. The doctors were happy with the outcome. This will set his recovery back 30+ days. Prayers are needed!

The Clark girls are in Fort Peck working on the summer theater plays. Best wishes to them for their involvement.

Sarah Osmundson asked me why I had Affinity in the column’s name. The answer is that I don’t live at Loring anymore, I live in Billings at Affinity, an apartment complex for people over 55 years old. Lots of my reporting includes things I see at Affinity. But I still hear about Loring and report on that. If you would like to contribute to the Loring News, just let me know.

Have a wonderful week!
