One Nation, Under God
Eight local churches will welcome Milk River Gospel Jamboree artists to their Sunday services on June 30, 2024, before they all gather at an afternoon meal open to the public from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm and an afternoon concert at Malta High School. A complete schedule for the Friday-through-Sunday June 28-30, 2024 Milk River Gospel Jamboree is posted at mrgjamboree.org; admission is free; donations appreciated for meals and concert.
The Assembly of God will host The Last Mountain Boys, a Southern Gospel trio from Strasbourg, Saskatchewan, that has appeared before crowds at the Canadian National Quartet Convention and in prairieland churches and rural community halls. Service time is 11:00 a.m., 424 South 3rd Street West.
Elim Lutheran Church will host Canada's award-winning Double Portion, a Milk River Gospel Jamboree favorite family group with multiple Canadian Gospel Music Association awards for Album, Song and Live Band of the Year. Service time is 11:00 a.m., 822 Central Avenue.
Grace Fellowship will host Billboard-charting recording artist Sherry Anne on her 2024 "Praise Hymn" tour that has included filming music videos in Louisiana at the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium where Elvis made his performance debut and The Steel Magnolias House where that movie was made. Last fall, she appeared with the 2023 Gaither Homecoming in Hershey, PA. Service time is 11:00 a.m., 346 South Third Street East.
Little White Church will host "The Last of the Real Singing Cowboys" Ken Overcast, a third-generation Montanan, Will Rogers Award winner, working rancher, yodeler, and co-writer of Montana's Official State Lullaby. Service time is 11:00 a.m., 21 South 2nd Street West.
Malta Community Church will host singer-songwriter and pastor Mark Umfleet of The Door "back roads" ministry that is taking the Gospel message and music to rural communities across Montana. Service time is 10:45 a.m., 326 South 2nd Avenue.
St. Mary's Catholic Church will host New Covenant Quartet from Manitoba with their Southern Gospel-style of soul-reviving music that they share in support of mental health programming. They have an Elvis connection, too. Service time is 10:30 a.m., 27 South 7th Street West.
Malta Lutheran Church will host Keepers of the Faith, at 316 South 3rd Avenue West, at 9:00 a.m., and the group will travel to Whitewater Lutheran for its service at 11:15 am in Whitewater, MT. Keepers of the Faith is perhaps the most diverse Southern Gospel quartet with a unique deep south island style of music that they have shared at prisons and hospitals and now touring from their home in Washington State.
