Malta FFA Holds Banquet

As the 2023-2024 school was drawing to a close, the Malta FFA Chapter held their annual banquet, which this year included a silent auction of baked goods. There was also a silent auction on various merchandise that had been donated toward the fundraising evening. The items had been donated by various businesses and individuals, supporters of the FFA program.

Following the dinner, members, family and friends gathered in the auditorium for the FFA meeting and program. Installed as 2024-2025 officers were: President-AJ Marquis, Vice President-Kenzie LaBrie, Treasurer-Shaylie Hines, Secretary-Karlie LaBrie, Reporter-Lola Snell, Sentinel-Amanda Volk, and Parlimentarian-Hannah Volk.

The Chapter also recognized Sarah and George Brown and Mendy Estill for their support this year. The Brown’s and Estill were given the Honorary Member status with the Chapter, for their hours, work and diligent efforts to keep the Chapter going, in the absence of a teacher to provide classes for the students to be able to maintain and preserve the Chapter, which was chartered in 1938 or 1939. The Brown’s and Estill were presented with a bouquet of flowers.

Ryan and Lynnel LaBrie have been serving as Advisors of the Malta Chapter of FFA in the absence of a vo-ag teacher.

The FFA members will be busy during the summer with their FFA fat beef projects. You will find them busy at the Phillips County Fair in Dodson on August 1-4 at their lemonade stand.
