One Nation, Under God
Phillips County Prevention Specialist, Gina Lamb collaborated with local Tobacco Prevention Education Specialist, Sonia Young, to provide prevention information to parents of students who will be going into Middle School (6th Grade) and High School (9th Grade) during their parent meetings hosted by the schools. Forty-five “Let’s Face It” bags were filled with ParentingMT cards, My Life My Quit pamphlets, reACT information on Vaping, a Conversation Starter card, a “YOU MATTER” sticker from Every Monday Matters, and a “Let’s Face It” water bottle.
PS partnered with Phillips County Coalition for Healthy Choices and the local movie theater owner, to promote Mental Health Awareness Month by placing green ribbon signs, garden flags and green lights in their small yard that flanks the “main drag” of Malta.
In May, we wear green, as it is often associated with concepts like new life, renewal, and growth in nature. This symbolism is intended to represent the idea that people with mental health challenges can experience recovery, healing and personal growth.
