Mustangs and M-ettes Compete in Glasgow, Wolf Point and Havre

The Malta Track Teams saw plenty of action last week, with a few athletes participating in the 42nd Annual Norm Girard Top 10 Track Meet on Monday, April 29, and all athletes at the the Gene Nelson Memorial in Wolf Point on Friday, May 3, and at the Havre Lions' Meet on Saturday, May 4.

The M-ettes placed sixth in the Lions' varsity women's meet with 35.1 points and seventh in the Gene Nelson Memorial with 27 points.

The Mustangs were fifth at the Gene Nelson meet with 51 points and ninth at the Lions' meet with 22.5 points.

Malta will compete in the 2B District Meet at Wolf Point High School this Saturday, May 11, starting at 9 a.m.

M-ettes

Team scores were not taken at the Top 10 meet, but senior Giona Lamb took second in shot put with a throw of 36-02.75. She was also sixth in discus with a throw of 90-08. She set a personal best of 96-8 in discus at the Lions' meet of 96-8 and placed third.

Denvyr Tuss was second in discus at Lions' Meet and Top 10. She had throws of 104-6 and 101-8 respectively. She was sixth in shot put at the Lions' meet.

Neva Jacobson was the last individual performer for Malta at the Top 10 Meet. She was tenth in pole vault after clearing 7-6. She took fifth in the event at the Lions' Meet by clearing 8-0.

Malta's long relay consisting of Brooklynn Knowles, Jacobson, Karlie LaBrie, and Addison Ulrich was eighth at the Top 10 meet with a time of 4:35.60. The long relay team was fourth at the Lions' meet with a time of 4:36.74.

Kendall Clausen took first place in the Gene Nelson javelin event with a throw of 104-11. She was fifth in the Lions' high jump by clearing 4-8, a new PR.

The short relay consisting of Jacobson, Knowles, Ulrich, and Kenzie LaBrie was fifth with a time of 55.04 at the Lions' meet.

Knowles was second in the Gene Nelson javelin event with a personal best of 98-0 and sixth in the 400 with a time of 1:11.13.

Ulrich was fifth in the Gene Nelson 400 with a time of 1:11.02.

Carly Mears was fourth in the Lions' pole vault after clearing a PR of 8-0, fifth in the Gene Nelson pole vault after clearing 7-6.

The short relay team consisting of Emma Ereaux, Mears, Knowles and Ulrich took sixth with a time of 56.94 at the Gene Nelson meet.

Ava Hanson was sixth in the Gene Nelson shot put with a throw of 27-2.50.

Tailynn Wilke was sixth in the Gene Nelson javelin event with a personal best of 83-7.

Ereaux was sixth in pole vault after she cleared 7-0.

Gavin Slade was first in the Gene Nelson javelin with a PR of 158-11 and third in the Lions' javelin with a throw of 137-9. He was fourth in the Gene Nelson discus event with a throw of 122-6.

Bohdi Brenden was second in the 800 with a time of 2:14.96.

TJ Siewing was second in the Gene Nelson shot put with a throw of 42-9 and sixth at the Lions' meet with a throw of 40-7.

Landon Retan was third in discus in the Lions' and Gene Nelson meets with throws of 124-0 and 129-8 respectively.

The long relay consisting of Brenden, Kyle Darrington, Mason Sjostrom, and Trooper Stiles was third at the Gene Nelson meet with a time of 3:46.59.

Mason Simanton was fourth in the Gene Nelson high jump after clearing 5-6. He was fifth in the Lions' 100 with a time of 11.92 and sixth in the Gene Nelson 100 with a time of 12.43.

Darrington was fifth in the Gene Nelson 200 with a time of 25.05.

The short relay consisting of Darrington, Simanton, Slade, and Sjostrom was fifth with a time of 47.08. The short relay team consisting of Darrington, Sjostrom, Slade, and Brenden was fifth with a time of 47.05 at the Lions' Meet.
