Gloria L. Lafond Taylor, age 104, earned her angel wings on April 1, 2024.
Gloria was born on October 2, 1919, to John and Mary (Clautier) Lafond, Sr., in Malta, Mont. Gloria grew up in a large family of nine.
On June 28, 1937, Gloria married Hugh R. Taylor. They resided in Malta where they raised their children, Richard, George, Albert, Norma and Roy.
Gloria was a wonderful mother, homemaker and devoted Catholic. She loved being around people and took care of many homebound people. She loved to cook, clean and care for others, especially the grandchildren. We all loved her cinnamon rolls and fried chicken. She also liked to play cards, socialize and work in her yard and garden. She worked many years waitressing at various cafes, at the Malta Rest Home, Malta Elementary School and the Good Samaritan Center.
Gloria lived at the Hi-Line Retirement Center for many years and assisted with laundry, setting tables and she was noted for peeling potatoes and assisting the cook with various tasks. She moved to Valley View Home in Glasgow upon the closure of the Hi-Line Retirement Center.
She touched many lives and always had a smile on her face and would say "I love you" to everyone. She was a very kind and generous person.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, her husband Hugh, son Richard and wife Ruth, son George and wife Patricia, daughter Norma, and grandson Ray Anthony.
Gloria is survived by her son Roy (Marilyn, son Albert, son-in-law Terry Wilson, sister-in-law Myrtle Lafond, 19 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, plus several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services are planned for June 15, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. at the Malta Cemetery. A potluck barbeque will be held at Trafton Park following the service.
