Special Meeting for Water Improvement

On the evening of Wednesday, April 17, at 6:00 p.m., there will be a Special Meeting of the Malta City Council which will be held at the Event Center (Old Armory) and the public is encouraged and invited to attend.

The purpose of the Public Hearing is to obtain public comments regarding the proposed improvements to Malta’s water system and the water preliminary engineering report (PER) prepared by Great West Engineering. The prepared applications for funding from the Montana Department of Commerce, Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation, USDA Rural Development, and/or the Department of Environmental Quality’s Drinking Water State Revolving Fund Program.

To be discussed at the meeting under the agenda following public input and comments, are five Resolutions: (1347) a Resolution to Adopt a Detailed Preliminary Engineering Report Prepared by Great West Engineering, Inc.; (1348) a Resolution to Accept the Determination that an Environmental Assessment is Appropriate for the City of Malta’s Water System Improvements Project; and (1349) a Resolution of the City of Malta to Authorize Submission of MCEP Application.

The #4 item on the agenda is the DNRC Grant Authorizing Statement and #5 item is the SRF - Uniform Application Form For Montana Public Facility Projects.

Water users and families of elderly residents of Malta are encouraged to attend as this is an important meeting regarding water issue at hand and available options.

The Event Center will accommodate the anticipated attendees.
