One Nation, Under God
For the second weekend in a row, track meets around us were postponed due to weather.
The first weekend, I did something that I loved. We went out of town to Medicine Hat and were tourists.
The second weekend, this past weekend, I did something that I have mixed emotions about: Spring Cleaning!
I’m a mostly positive person or try to be, so we will start with the positives. Things are organized, I found some “treasures,” and my wife is proud of the work that we did as a family.
We were able to get rid of a lot of things that at one point seemed important to us. The kids are getting bigger, so toys of the past were donated or tossed depending on their condition.
I finally got the courage to say that I will not be able to fit clothes that I did in 2018. So, the clothes in good shape were donated and the clothes in rough shape were tossed.
The negatives about the weekend: I was sick. Sick to my stomach. Not sure why, but it could be because of the copious amount of junk food that I have consumed since our little Easter/birthday trip to Medicine Hat. I fell off the wagon.
Since that trip up north, I have tried about seven Mountain Dew flavors that I haven’t had in years, or ever at all. I may have to write a review on those delicious flavors from my memory one day.
One thing is for sure… I will be back on low carb soon. I love regular food but I feel a lot better on low carb.
Another negative is that I had to let some things go. Don’t get me wrong, letting go is a positive thing, but I find myself missing things that are now out of my life. This is extended to people in my past. I eventually stopped texting or calling.
Cleaning always seems to remind me that you just need to let stuff go. Change is needed or you will stay stuck in a cluttered past. Let it go.
