New Opencut Mining Operation
As per the MT Department of Environmental Quality Opencut Division this notice is to inform the public of a proposed new sand and gravel mine. This site now known as
The Anderson Pit
is located in Section 26, T30N, R31E, Phillips County and includes acres.
This site will be used for various area projects. Fisher Sand & Gravel Co. will be operating this site for the removal of sand and gravel. A portable crushing spread will be moved on and off site as needed and may be operated 10 days on, 4 days off, 15 hours per day. A portable Hot Mix Asphalt plant may be moved on and off site as needed and may operate 6 days per week, 15 hours per day.

DISPOSITION OF OBSOLETE AND UNDESIRABLE PROPERTY
Notice is hereby given as required by Section 20-6-604, MCA, the Board of Trustees of Malta School District 14A adopted a resolution at a regular trustee meeting on March 13, 2024 to dispose of abandoned, obsolete, unsuitable and undesirable property of minimal value, including but not limited to various tools, computer equipment, office equipment, office furniture and a 2010 Mercury Grand Marquis LS. The sale will be held at the back of the Head Start Building (also known as the old Country Home) located at 117 S 9th St W. The date of the sale is set for April 15, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
For more information you may phone the school office at 654-1871. Any taxpayer of the district may appeal this resolution to district court anytime prior to the effective date of this resolution. NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The City of Malta will hold a public hearing on April 17th, 2024. The public hearing will begin at 6:00 p.m. at the Malta Event Center at 1008 US Highway 191 South. The City Council has scheduled the hearing to obtain public comments regarding the proposed improvements to Malta’s water system. With assistance from Great West Engineering, the City has prepared a water preliminary engineering report (PER) and is preparing applications for funding from the Montana Department of Commerce, Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation, USDA Rural Development, and/or the Department of Environmental Quality’s Drinking Water State Revolving Fund Program.
At the public hearing, representatives of Malta and Great West Engineering will explain the purpose of the project, the project area, the scope of work, the budget, possible sources of funding, and any costs that may result for local citizens because of the project. Great West Engineering will also present its assessment of the project's impact on the environment. Copies of the draft environmental assessment and PER are available at the City Hall. During the public hearing, residents may ask questions and express their opinions regarding the project and its impact on the City of Malta.

SCHOOL ELECTION NOTICE
Notice is hereby given by the undersigned Clerks of Dodson, Malta, Saco and Whitewater School Districts No. 2A-C, 14A, 12A + 12B, and 20D Phillips County, State of Montana that regular registration for the Annual School Election to be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, will close at 5:00 pm on Monday, April 8, 2024.
NOTE: If you miss this regular registration deadline, you may still register for the election by showing up at the county election office up to and including on Election Day. All active and inactive electors of Dodson, Malta, Saco and Whitewater School Districts No. 2A-C, 14A, 12A + 12B, and 20D are entitled to vote at said election.
Districts No. 2A-C, 14A, 12A + 12B, and 20D will conduct a Mail Ballot Election:

This is a Montana Prevailing Wage Rate project. See State of Montana website and/or project specifications for current effective labor rates.
