One Nation, Under God

Loring News for Wednesday, March 27, 2024

Happy spring to you all! We just got a nice layer of snow in Billings, but I know that Loring has had several days of snowfall this week! With the snow cover the gophers are easy to see playing on a snowbank! On the hills, little blades of green are showing up, and the birds are coming back slowly. Almost every farm has a few calves playing around!

The temperatures in Billings hit 71 before the wintery storm on the weekend. I spotted some blooming crocuses, and some trees blooming just before their leaves pop out. I love the longer daylight!

Nancy Murdock visited me one day last week. That is one busy lady! I always enjoy a visit from friends from northern Phillips County.

At Affinity, in the theater, three movies are played each week. Most of them are older, but still fun to watch.

I visited with Diana Engel on Friday at Layne's home. Layne lives just down the road from me so I can drive to it. I don’t drive often.

Congratulations to Etta Blunt for earning second place in the AAU wrestling in the state! She’s a little fighter!

Paige Wasson earned MVP for the state basketball tourney, which is a huge honor! Congratulations to her.

The students are practicing for track and field now, plus winding up their studies for the year. But we never stop learning, do we?

Mylee and Bryten Clark tried out for the Fort Peck Theater. They both have parts for the upcoming season. Mylee is in Cinderella, and Bryten and Mylee are in “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”. Sounds like a busy summer for the Clark family! Congrats, girls!

If you have something you’d like to see in the Phillips County News, give me a call.

Happy Easter to all!
