Greetings from our Whitewater, Montana!
We have ice and snow but above zero temps. Last week it was 40 below.
Whitewater School Basketball teams are gearing up for tournaments next week. Good luck to all teams.
Many in this area watched the Super Bowl on Sunday.
Farmers and ranchers are busy feeding cattle and livestock. Hay is abundant which is a blessing. Compared to drought years. Some ranchers are planning on calving soon.
Whitewater Lutheran Church is planning a Lenten Soup supper. Evening Lenten services start on Wednesday until Easter. Supper begins at 5:30 and service at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
Happy Valentine's Day. Here’s my Valentine's story. When I was 12, at the Whitewater ranch we had a baby calf born on Valentine's Day! She even had a heart shape on her forehead. Of course, we named her Val.

Broccoli Cheese Soup
Ingredients:
1/3 c. chopped onion. 3 cups of broccoli 1 stick of butter ½ c. of flour ½ t. of prepared mustard
1/8 t. pepper. ½ c. of milk
½ c. cubed cheese 10 ¼ oz. can of chicken broth
Directions:
Add onion to broccoli, cook and drain. In medium pan, melt butter. Stir in
flour, salt, mustard, and pepper. Add milk gradually. Stir constantly. Add
broccoli and remaining ingredients. Cook until cheese is all melted.
