Proud of our local guy

Greg Kielb, the voice of the Malta Mustangs and M-ettes received a citation from the Montana High School Activities Association (MHSA) for his “significant contribution” to high school sports. Rough calculations indicate in his 40 year career, Kielb has announced over 250 regular season football games and over 1,200 games for Malta boys and girls basketball teams.

He has also called Class C games in the county, and 35 state championship games.

When the rhetoric had subsided, Big Fork claimed the school title in the Class B ranks at the Divisional meet held at Malta High school. Choteau was the top school in Drama.

The driver, Kenneth VanHoesen, was examined at the local hospital and then taken to jail by the Montana Highway Patrol as a result of the accident.

The best individual performance for an athlete in basketball thus far may have been by Dodson Coyote Jessica Parker, who went in Beastmode in the team’s 86-46 beat-down of the Turner Lady Tornadoes. She put 34 points on the scoreboard for the Coyotes.
