Phillips County Community Foundation to hold Re-organizational Meeting

The Phillips County Community Foundation (PCCF) will hold a re-organizational meeting at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, January 16th in the basement community room of the Phillips County Library.

PCCF President, Anne Boothe states that “we’re looking for new volunteers and leaders to serve on the Board of Directors and Strategy Committee and invite all concerned citizens to join us at the meeting. We have tremendous opportunity for matching funds for local projects and building our endowment in the near future and need to make some critical decisions as to how to move forward.”

Here is some informational background about the Phillips County Community Foundation: We are an affiliate of the Montana Community Foundation (MCF) but also maintain our own separate IRS 501c3 status. MCF manages our endowment fund that has $107,000+ in assets. They also manage dedicated accounts under our affiliation for the Little White Church, PC Historical Society, PC Rural Fire, City of Malta Trafton Arena and Saco Methodist Church. MCF distributes annual earnings from our endowment to PCCF and directly to the dedicated accounts. PCCF typically invites small community grant applications on a biannual basis. PCCF has made small grants ($500 to $2500) to projects such as RCAN, Malta Senior Center, Saco IOOF, 4H Council, PC Library, PC Shooters Club, HiLine Future Foundation, Malta Boys & Girls Club, Town of Dodson, Great Plains Dinosaur Museum, MOI, Malta Trails, Loring Hall, Zortman Amphitheater, Dodson Rural Fire, Saco Sidewalk Project, City of Malta playgrounds and more.

Current board members are - Cheri Doll, Terry Skones, Sally Salveson, Carol Kienenberger and Anne Boothe. The Montana Community Foundation has made a generous matching funds offer that could generate $30,000 over the next five years for a local project but it must be matched with contributions to PCCF’s endowment fund. This isn’t something the current board can do alone - we need new energy and new leaders to step forward. Please come to the meeting on the 16th to learn more about how you can help.
