Sympathy to the family of Ron Soennichsen on his passing this past week. Thoughts and prayers to the family.

It is October. “Happy Birthday to all! “Get Well Wishes to all who are sick.”

Pastor Wisher took a bus to Lewis and Clark Wildlife Refuge to view the elk and hear them bugle. It’s awesome, the elk are majestic beasts.

Once, a long time ago, we ran into an elk. It was close to the Missouri River Bridge. The elk was bigger than a cow.

Here in Whitewater, we had a storm with lightning and thunder, then the rain came. It settled all the dust and freshened the air.

Here’s hoping ranchers had the grain and hay covered. Soon ranchers will be shipping calves and bringing the rest of the cattle in for winter feeding.

The nights are already getting cold. Check your Farmer’s Almanac and put your storm doors and storm windows on.

There was a Farm Women in Agriculture meeting at the North 40. Several women attended.

Here’s a recipe for quick hot soup, it’s called Garbage Soup.

Use Leftovers, vegetables, and meat of any kind.

Add cooked macaroni and

potatoes cut small.

1-large can of tomato soup or sauce and add water.

Stir in all ingredients, add salt and pepper to taste.

Top with croutons and serve with sour cream.
