One Nation, Under God
In Loving Memory: Courtney Dianne Hellie, 42, suddenly passed away on September 5, 2023, in Havre, MT.
After a strong and faithful fight with breast cancer, Courtney is victorious in the Lord that she loved and served so well.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 16, 2023, at the Malta Assembly of God, 424 S 3rd St W, Malta, MT 59538. The family requests that those in attendance dress brightly and celebrate the successful life of the good and faithful servant Courtney was on this side of eternity.
Courtney was born November 20, 1980, in Graham, TX to Pam Lentz (Wolsey) and Kent Smith. She moved to Colorado with her parents when she was 6 weeks old and grew up there. She graduated from Kersey, Colorado High School in 1998 and went on to graduate from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources, Recreation and Tourism in 2002.
Courtney married Jason Hellie on June 28, 2003, and they moved back to Whitewater, MT in August 2004 where they resided until her death.
She was a member of the Whitewater Quilting Club, a long-time member of the Malta Assembly of God, and the leader of BGMC at the church, where she was honored for her fundraising and leadership efforts.
Courtney's love of God was the force that gave her the ability to love and touch all of those around her with tenderness and grace. She was selfless, living every day with the goal of showing God's love to all she met through missions she supported, the values instilled into her children, and through her unwavering faith during her illness.
Her faith and family were first and foremost. She fully embraced the role of "boy mom" teaching her boys to live as Godly men.
She was a shining example of how to live, be in service to others, and raise her family. Her favorite things in life were her garden, and her animals (chickens and ducks). She was an admirer of all things in nature and loved to teach her boys in all the things they did together, making every moment a home-schooling experience.
Courtney is survived by her husband Jason and 6 sons (Timothy Hoyt 18, Thomas Haden 16, Theodore Hadley 12, Terrence Henson 10, Tennessee Hank 9, and Tex Henley 3) all of Whitewater, MT.
She is also survived by her parents: Pam (Michael) Wolsey of Whitewater, MT, and Kent (Renay) Smith of Belton, TX; Mother-In-Law Dee Dee (Denice Lynn) Hellie of Ft. Meyers, FL; Sister Hannah Smith of Denver, CO; Grandparents Joyce Lentz of Allen, TX, and Bud (Val) Harger of Belton, TX; In-laws and Spouses RJ (Christine) Field of Spokane, WA, Addam (Tayler) Hellie of Whitewater, MT, and Mikita Hellie of Ft. Meyers, FL, along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other extended family and countless numbers of friends, acquaintances and those that felt her radiance over the years.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting a donation to "The Boys and Girls Missionary Challenge" in honor of Courtney.
