One Nation, Under God
The Great Plains Dinosaur Museum is offering a prospecting program for the month of September. If you’d like to be on the cutting edge of fossil hunting and possibly find a fossil in the field this is your time to shine! Most of the fossils on display were found by accident or by a person hiking along the coulees where fossil-rich strata are often found.
September is a perfect month to prospect because it is a little cooler than the rest of the summer season.
So how does this work? To begin with, call the Great Plains Dinosaur Museum at 406-654-5300 and inquire about a date that you have in mind.
Then on the morning of your reservation, meet at the museum with appropriate hiking shoes, water bottles and a hat to keep the sun off. If you are worried about mosquitoes, bring your repellent. That’s it. Our paleontologist will drive everyone out to a place where he has secured permission and instruct you on what you are looking for.
This six-hour program will cost $150 per person, including lunch. Come on! Join the fun!
