One Nation, Under God
Two days of intense heat, in the high 90s or low 100s! It almost did me in but the cool weather came in on Saturday and it was such a relief. It is still cool on Sunday, but the breeze is still present. Hopefully, the harvesting is wrapping up. An unusual weather phenomenon is happening on the west coast. A hurricane has developed and is now pushing up the coast of California. It is now called a tropical storm, but pushing northward so even Montana is in the path. The main thing that is predicted is rain. Some states, in particular, Arizona, are due to get a whole year’s worth of rain in one day, that’s a huge amount of rain. I’ll just wait until it starts raining up here and will report next week! If I don’t get washed away!
Last week I was pleasantly surprised by running into Marie Compton LaDuke and her family at the GN. I thought it interesting that her husband Doug, and their two adult sons, daughter-in-law, grandkids, and sister Kerry and Gordy were eating at an establishment that her dad, Duane Compton, had owned for several decades! Good ownership and management carry on! Marie and her husband are retired and live on the east coast. It was great getting to see her!
School started in Whitewater, so the yellow bus makes a trip by here at 7:00! Brenda Clark is the bus driver. We all wish the kids the best for this year!
Some of my leaves are turning yellow and the birds are devouring the seeds on the sunflowers, storing up energy for the migration. Tom, my husband, liked to watch them and so do I. But he didn’t like the heavy root system that made it so hard to get rid of the old plants.
Until next week have a safe time and giggle every day!
