One Nation, Under God
PhillCo Economic Growth Council’s Community Fund Committee is pleased to announce they have finalized a funding package to assist Tony & Emily Simonsen in purchasing the old Hi-Line Retirement facility.
It will reopen as River’s Bend Assisted Living and will be their third Class A assisted living facility.
The Community Fund Committee, formed by PhillCo members, assisted in the financing of this project.
With nearly 24 percent of the Phillips County population 65 years old or older, River’s Bend Assisted Living will provide much-needed care to our seniors in Malta, Phillips County, and the surrounding communities, while keeping them close to home.
The Simonsen’s currently operate two Class A assisted living facilities in Montana, a 10-bed facility in Sheridan and a 16-bed facility in Townsend. With their 12 years of experience in elder care in rural Montana, they are very familiar with rural Montana living, and the complexities and viability of owning and operating assisted living facilities in the current climate. At full capacity, River’s Bend Assisted Living will have 26 beds and create livable wage employment in Phillips County for approximately 15 full and part-time employees. PhillCo and the Community Fund Committee are excited to work with someone of their expertise and track record to serve our area.
The PhillCo Community Fund was created out of metal mine reserves and general contributions and
donations secured by PhillCo to provide assistance to startup, expanding, or relocating businesses
through Business Loans and Store Front Beautification grants. Priority is given to projects that establish
a means to revolve funds back into the Community Fund, create livable wage employment in Phillips
County and expand the local tax base. To learn more about the Community Fund's history and purpose, visit
