One Nation, Under God

Loring News for Wednesday, August 9, 2023

It sounds like the Phillips County Fair was a roaring success again this year! 108 years in a row, now that has to be something to be proud of! I did not feel well so I opted to stay home.

Lu Besel came over on Sunday morning to see some of the stuff I’ve been finding in the trunks and totes from the farm. We picked chokecherries at Cindy Clark’s also.

Cindy has a few great bushes that the birds hadn’t ravished yet!

At senior meals, we were surprised by Jeanie Green! It was fun to see and visit with her!

She certainly loves the Arizona weather! And I’m so happy for her!

I had lunch with Sarah Osmundson one day last week. And another day I met Dollyann Willcutt for lunch.

Thank you to all the people who read and commented on the article I wrote about my grandpa Stubblefield.

The days are noticeably shorter. At the equinox, the hours of light will equal the hours of darkness. The autumnal equinox is September 21. So, I’m expecting the birds to start migrating back south. I’m hoping to see some birds with colorful plumage, like a Blue Jay or a flicker! Maybe a hummingbird or two.

Have a good week playing at the lake and getting ready for school to start!
