One Nation, Under God
What a week! After working at the Great Plains Dinosaur Museum on the Fourth of July, Cindy Clark invited me for dinner. It was nice and relaxing. I think the only other people in Loring were the Boschees later on. The town was very quiet. The Lumsdens and Blunts spent several days at Nelson.
I spent a lot of time planning for the Kids’ Day activities on Saturday. And when the day came, I feel that it went well! About 70 kids plus parents were enjoying the activities and the movie Jurassic Park at the theater! Thank you so much Kari!
Dave Menshew of Modesto, California, drove up to Malta to volunteer for a couple of days at the GPDM. He helped me a lot with prepping for Kids’ Day! And clipped the juniper back off the sidewalk, a huge job. Then during the day, he taught everyone how to make a horn to sound like a dinosaur. It was made with a short tube, maybe 12 inches or 24 inches, a surgical glove, and a short straw. I actually could get it to work, too! He is taking part in the dig this week.
Late in the afternoon, Rita Fraser from Huntley arrived and helped with the bucket auction.
She won the Spa package in the raffle. And then she gave most of it to me.
I had a family of six skunks in my yard for a couple of nights. I’m sure they are still here somewhere but I haven’t seen them for a while now. I better keep my guard up and not get too casual! That’s when the dog will get sprayed for sure!
Shout out to Louis Miller from Billings. He read my column a few weeks ago when I commented about not having a rain gauge. So, he sent me one! Some of you might remember him from the ‘90s when he was the manager at Car Quest! Thank you, Louis, for reading my column and for sending the rain gauge!
Carol Lumsden was at the church on Saturday, picking up a bit, when she got a surprise!
Myrtle Hould and Martina Hould drove out from Malta to check out the area. Myrtle grew up here. She was very pleased with the church and how the town is groomed! Thank you for coming out!
Cindy Clark, Kenny, and Brenda Clark were watching Bryten Clark in her debut on the stage in “Matilda” at Fort Peck Theater! Mylee is working with the sets and props. Ryan is practicing his baseball skills.
Stay as cool as possible. See you next week!
